Welcome! Hello from Katrina !

I created spaces done right because my passion is to help simplify homes. Simplify in real ways that work for the entire family. Simplify homes that become more efficient, more organized, more workable, and more beautiful.

I see how our homes are too much to clean and too much to tidy. We juggle schedules, work, family, friends, and the demands of the “always on” environment.

Our homes create a “To Do ” list of chores and tasks. The “I will get to that someday”. The list gets longer, and the projects get pushed to another time.

My specialty is designing organization systems that work for the entire family. There can be a thoughtful designed order to your things, your space, your home.

Homes are meant to be comfortable and cozy, a place of respite and calm.

I work on kitchens, offices, closets, storage units, play rooms, living rooms, basements, and garages. I also work on small businesses. I help define what you need for a big downsizing move, a move in, a simple project, or a full clear away.

I categorize and sort, label, recycle, donate, and dispose. I set up organized systems that are done thoughtfully. spaces done well, spaces done right.

  • Take everything out of boxes or out of cupboards and storage.

  • Lay everything out on long tables by grouping: baking ware, cooking ware, dinner plates, cups, mugs, bowls, glassware, storage containers, flatware, serving plates, entertaining pieces, seasonal pieces, holiday pieces.

  • Look for duplicates and eliminate by group.

  • Edit any ceramic or glassware with less than 4 alike pieces.

  • Pantry: trash old and out of date food, spices, condiments, sauces, baking ingredients, oils.

  • Marry any liquids in containers. Empty any containers of rancid food.

  • Align all bakeware and cookware, and group together in similar activities: grilling, baking, sauteeing, boiling. Donate pans or ceramics that you haven’t used in 2 years.

  • Recycle all appliances that you haven’t used in 2 years.

  • Make a storage basket for any memorabilia, gifts, or a single precious item.

  • Organize glassware and prioritize daily use, wine, cocktail, in order. Remove the glassware that you do not use and recycle or donate.

  • Organize flatware and make sure you have what you need. Recycle or donate any extra pieces. Organize serving pieces and donate or recycle extras.

  • This is a starter sampler and much more included in Spaces Done Right.
