Great book. Now to get as drunk as rabbits!! This is the perfect book to read in short bursts. I read this over a week or so, which worked well because each chapter takes you to a different era and different part of the world to investigate just how drunk everyone was getting.
I would not call this book "scholarly," but would instead call it "incredibly funny," so if you're into British humor, reading about the rum economy of early Australia, or general historical shenanigans, you should try this.
